About Last Night……
So, that happened.
Yea, we’ve talked a lot about how Trump was going to fight the election loss with his various court schemes and such. And, now, he doesn’t even need them.
It pretty much caught us off-guard. We were so sure that Kamala had all of Biden’s 2020 support, plus women aggrieved over the reversing of Roe.
We were wrong.
Trump won easily, taking almost all of the swing states, and Kamala somehow got 15 million less votes than Biden had in 2020.
How did this happen?
I mean, we were calling him out the whole time. The lies. The hate. The misogyny. The racism. The absolute insane gibberish. The crimes. Project 2025. The whole enchilada was on the table. Even the rallies were stacked for Kamala.
Wha’happen?
A few things.
We had voter purges of blue district voters in the last 30-90 days before the election and mail-in ballot chicanery- scrutinizing and withholding thousands of ballots over signature issues.
These things definitely did damage, though we don’t know if they could have affected the outcome directly.
But, the third, and most caustic, is the mainstream media. Most specifically, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the epitome of hypocrisy, the Wall Street Journal. They all downplayed Trump’s faults, sane washed his incoherent rants, normalized his hateful, bizarre behavior and dismissed his felonies and crimes against the country as if ‘everybody does that’.
And, they gave him the election.
Because hundreds of millions of people get all their information from mainstream news and TV outlets. Nobody’s going to vote against misbehavior they’re not told about. This is without even getting into the misinformation and outrageous lies people have been hearing on Fox News, RBBN and online.
And, Trump?
Well, for starters, he got his fondest wish- eliminating the charges against him. It was the whole reason he was running. But, along the way, he had to spurt out and make up shit that was gonna keep his base.
He told us repeatedly what he’s going to do.
He’s going to ban abortion nationally with no exceptions.
He’s going to put Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, in charge of cutting $2 trillion from the budget, which will have to be about all of the nation’s discretionary spending and then some. Medicare. Medicaid, Social Security, unemployment, food stamps, any and all welfare, all will be gone if he has his way. Not to mention, solar and alternate power initiatives, environmental spending, most foreign aid, especially to Ukraine.
He’s going to put Robert Kennedy Jr., the most ardent and stupidest anti-vaxxer and conspiracy theorist alive today, in charge of all of our health departments. The guy still wants to ‘de-flouridate’ our water, for Christ’s sake.
He’s going to put Uber-racist Stephen Miller, who has never been photographed with Voldemort, in charge of immigration, which means he’s going to try to round up and deport all of the immigrants he can lay ICE’s hands on- as many as 18 million people. It will destroy the agricultural and hospitality industries.
All of this will support another major tax break for the rich, which will add another $8 trillion to the debt.
Mainstream media has literally cut off their nose to spite their face. By leaving all of Trump’s faults and crimes off the table, or, worse, normalizing them, they have guaranteed him the fascist reign he sought. The rich, conservative owners think they are protecting themselves, but they have sacrificed the point and integrity of their publications. They will be reduced to state media sycophants or shut down.
And, what will happen to the Democratic Party?
Well, if past fascist regimes are any indicator, they could be banned. There could suddenly be no Democrats.
While it still feels like no one could get away with all of this, we have to remember that with this election, this evil man has already gotten away with;
- Extorting a foreign country for election dirt.
- Fomenting insurrection to try to overturn an election.
- Forging fake electoral certificates to try to overturn an election.
- Stealing thousands of documents, including the most valuable top secret info in the world, in direct violation of the Presidential Records Act and several clauses of the Espionage Act.
- Planning and discussing government and election issues with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
- Lying though his goddam teeth about everything from his rivals to Haitians eating pets to schools performing sex-change operations in a day.
- Escaping prison time for his 34 felony convictions.
And, that’s just a short highlight.
And they don’t just have the White House. This was possibly a Grand Slam. (Votes are still being counted at this writing.) Republicans may now control the entire functioning government- the White House, the Senate, the House and the Supreme Court.
Remember those guys? The ones who said that criminal acts can be official and official acts can’t be criminal and therefore are all immune from prosecution?
The same House that passed ‘dishwasher affordability’ instead of the Farm Bill.
The same Senate that killed a border bill they wrote because Trump told them to.
The Republicans are fascist collaborators. They want all of these things. They literally believe that they must physically enforce culture wars, and while for them that may simply mean legislation and speeches at the government level, to the officers in the street, it means ‘fucking up some illegals and fags’.
And that’s without getting to the bomb threats.
Yes, dozens of bomb threats at blue swing state polling places, stopping or delaying voters for many hours. We’ll never know how many votes were prevented by this, but Trump seems to have won the swing states where this happened. And, all of it was immediately traced back to Russia.
Let’s not forget Russia.
Nikita Kruschev, the USSR’s Prime Minister in the 50s and 60s, infamously said that the USSR would ‘defeat America from within’ by dividing us against each other. They have never stopped that effort.
Now, apparently, Putin has pulled it off.
His ten-year ‘Special Military Operation’, as Russian PM Medvedev has admittingly called it, has been wildly successful. He’s put his arch-enemy- the US- in the palm of his hand without firing a shot at us.
Just as an ‘I told you so’, everything that Russia, that is, Putin, has done, from conniving with Paul Manafort, to setting Rudy on Zelensky, to the thousands of bots spreading disinformation and hate and frequent private talks with Trump, was in furtherance of Kruschev’s promise.
His puppet, Trump, has regained the White House, and he’s backed by an even more shallow and evil person, his VP J.D. Vance, who has less morals than a slug. (Well, that’s not fair to the slug, is it?)
Trump and the Republicans are inextricably tied to Putin and Russia. They will govern by Putin’s direction. After all, their Project 2025 is a laundry list that Putin has largely already executed.
Ronald Reagan would be horrified and appalled at today’s reality.
Trump’s campaign was based on lies, innuendo, rhetoric and hate.
His administration will be that on steroids.
He’s promised to jail his enemies, which is everyone who opposes him, and the press if they don’t compliment him.
We really should believe him when he says these things. He means it.
And, with a lock on the government, he doesn’t need to invoke martial law to execute Project 2025. Much of it can be legislated, and if sued, thrown out by the FedSoc Six.
If it follows Project 2025 to form, there may not even be another election. Trump has made it more than clear that he relishes dictator’s like Xi and Jong Un being appointed ‘for life’. Fascism doesn’t require elections. Putin only holds them as propaganda. Trump won’t want to take that chance.
But, there’s another level to this rub.
On January 21st, 2025, Trump becomes an uncontrollable, demented, unstable and useless bull in the China shop and completely expendable. He may envision 2028, and staying president for life, but Putin and the Republicans don’t have time for that shit. Trump has always been just a vehicle for destabilization and control of the US government. Putin put him there for his reasons, not Trump’s.
J.D. Vance is probably the most willing puppet ever tied to a string. He’s the one we’ll be stuck with for what could be 8 years or more.
To be frank, no liberal nation on Earth had it on their bingo card that our Republicans could be baited into fascism by Russia.
Gonna be rough, folks.
